National Safety Month

June is recognized by the National Safety Council as National Safety Month. During the month of June, we aim to emphasize the importance of workplace safety and highlight the steps we take to try to keep our plants safe.

At PSC Industries, we prioritize safety in all we do. Safety is modeled by our leadership and encouraged throughout every level. We believe that the Shadow of a Leader has a lasting impact on all members of an organization.  Fostering a safety-first culture is and has always been a cornerstone of the business model and is interwoven into the fabric of PSC Industries’ core values.

Every year, the NSC chooses specific topics to focus on during National Safety Month. This year, those topics include Continuous Improvement and Employee Engagement – two subjects that we highly value here at PSC Industries.

Monthly Safety Meeting

Continuous Improvement

Continuous Improvement is one of the core principles of our business model. We consistently encourage our employees to find ways to make our plants safer with our safety proposal program. This program continues to grow, producing over 400 safety improvements last year. Furthermore, PSC Industries is ISO 9001 certified. This set of quality standards heavily emphasizes continuous improvement and employee engagement. At PSC, safety and quality work hand in hand. Safe, diligent work produces the best possible product for our customers.  Continuously implementing the best practices both ensures that we are working safely and that we are producing high quality parts.

Employee Engagement

At PSC Industries, we work hard to ensure that all of our employees are actively engaged in our safety initiatives. Every plant conducts semi-annual safety luncheons and monthly safety trainings to ensure that employees remain well informed. The high engagement with our safety program has produced excellent results. We saw a 66% decrease in recordable injuries from 2023 to 2024, and we are below the national average for OSHA recordable injuries. Eight of our plants finished 2024 completely injury free. Our plant in Auburndale, Florida has impressively gone almost a decade without a lost time injury.

At PSC Industries, employee dedication to safety is the cornerstone of our operations. Every team member is committed to maintaining a safe and secure workplace by following established protocols, participating in regular safety training, and proactively identifying potential hazards. This shared responsibility ensures not only compliance with industry standards but also fosters a culture where everyone looks out for one another. We are so grateful for our employees and all the hard work that they do to keep our plants safe.
